Hiring Remote in Crypto: Share, Pay and What Works
1,465 remote roles live today. Updated 2026-09-15.
Crypto is the most remote-friendly hiring market in technology, and the data says so plainly: 1,465 of the 3,703 live roles on the board — 40% — are remote. For an employer that means two things at once. The candidate pool for a remote role is global and deep; and an on-site requirement that is not genuinely necessary is competing for a fraction of the market at roughly the same price.

Remote vs on-site pay
Among roles with an employer-published USD band, remote roles show a median midpoint of $190k and on-site roles $195k. Some employers location-adjust remote bands and state it on the listing; the listing's own range is always what appears on the board. Full tables by function are on the benchmarks page.
What works in a remote crypto listing
Four things, from the listings that read well and the ones that don't. State the time-zone overlap you actually need — "4 hours overlap with CET" — instead of a country list, which excludes people you would happily hire. Publish the band and say whether it is location-adjusted; ambiguity here costs candidates. Describe the async process concretely (where decisions are written down, how reviews happen) because experienced remote candidates screen for it. And be explicit about how token or equity grants work for contractors versus employees in different jurisdictions — the strongest remote candidates have been burned by vague answers before. The candidate-side remote guide shows what applicants are reading; the remote crypto jobs page is the live pool you are competing in.
